National Day of Action
February 13th will mark the 2nd anniversary of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's National Apology to the Stolen Generations. However, Indigenous Australians across the country are still campaigning against ongoing Northern Territory Intervention policies and the continued failure to reinstate the Racial Discrimination Act. On the 13th there will be a National Day of Action calling for an end to the NT Intervention and income quarantining, as well as demanding Aboriginal controlled housing, jobs and services for all communities.
The 3rd Degree's Libby King spoke to leader of the Intervention Rollback Action Group and resident of Mount Nancy town camp, Barbara Shaw, and Monique Wiseman from the Stop the Intervention Collective Sydney.

National Book Launch: This is What We Said
This book puts on record some of the views about the NT Intervention that were expressed by Aboriginal people during the NTER consultations in June-August last year. Using photographs and quotations from consultations at Bagot, Ampilatwatja, Utopia and Yirrkala communities, it provides a graphic account of the depth of despair and anguish of many Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory regarding the Intervention.

Reclaim the Lanes
A roving street party in newtown! It's about time that we celebrate our community, local art & music, and the potenial of our neighbourhoods. Together we can see our public streets as meeting places and open areas of community engagement instead of transit routes dominated by cars. The goal is to have a totally free community event celebrating vibrant local creativity. There will be bands, sound systems and installations along the way, ending up in a beautiful lost alleyway of the inner west. Bring your friends, drums, mobile sound systems, couches on wheels, bikes, skateboards, picnic rugs and drinks. Meet at The HUB in Newtown Square, opposite the train station at 2pm.

Ep. 35. Christmas Special!
Aired on 2SER 25 December 2008.
Click to Download: Ep. 35. Christmas Special!
Peats Ridge Festival
As we roll up to a new year in a polluted world, what better way to kick it off than a sustainability festival? We hear how Peats Ridge steps lightly on the local environment. From the Land of Hopeless Utopians to geodesic domes to fertiliser-harvesting toilets - the festival is about people coming together, having fun and imagining a better world.
Christmas Lunch
It's the biggest meal of the year! How can you make it more sustainable? We're advised to stay away from meat, stay in season and rethink what the 'local' Coles means - Plus a few hot ideas for very last minute earth-friendly pressies, and some ideas for true food resolutions!
Mitigation Gap Report
Last week Kevin Rudd announced a 5-15% reduction in Australian emissions by 2020 as part of the release of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme White Paper. This is low - but the Mitigation Gap Report, published by the Global Climate Network, states that even the higher targets suggested internationally are also too low. The 'Mitigation Gap' is the disparity between diplomatic targets and the targets science tells us we need. The Third Degree's Nick Hollins speaks to Andrew Pendleton from the Institute for Public Policy in London, and is coordinator of the Global Climate Network.
This Week's Guests: Claudia Santangelo, arts producer of the Peats Ridge Festival; Tim Barker, founder of Regenerate and member of the Figure8 sustainable production collective; and Renata Field from Alfalfa House, a community food co-operative in Enmore.
Presenters: Libby King, Dominic Santangelo and Tessa Dowdell
