This week we look at rare earths. Rare earth metals are the special metals used in our phones as well as computers, hybrid cars and wind turbines. China has long been the dominant producer of rare earth, but now Australian based company Lynas is attempting to set up a large rare earth processing plant in Malaysia.
Twelve locals from the chosen site - Kuanton, Malaysia - have brought their concerns about radioactive waste with them to Sydney.
