ASBESTOS Contamination
Last November the NSW Ombudsman Bruce Barbour release a report into NSW asbestos problems. The report strongly conemns the state's inadequate legislation and funding for the clean-up of asbestos contamination. Third Degree's Simon Unwin reports.

A recent history of flooding in Queensland – is also the story of coal mines releasing contaminated water illegally into waterways. But is this just an unpleasant reality of an industry whose mines were built on major flood plains? Third Degree's Jessica Minshall speaks with Nigel Parratt, Rivers Project Officer with Queensland Conservation Council.

Lake Cowal Gold Mine and Floods But it’s not just coal mines that can be affected by storm waters. Cowal gold mine, at Lake Cowal, is on the edge of a wetland and open-cut mining here involves toxic cyanide. Third Degree’s Hannah Walters reports.
