The conversation is about racism. We look at a few examples of racism on the streets, and within Governmental Policy – and the statements used as justification.
Guests in the studio: Rachel and Mark, Newtown residents
Dr Christina Ho lectures in Arts and Social Sciences at UTS, and co-organised a conference in 2006 titled ‘Not another hijab row’. This was in response to the framing of so called ‘race debates’ at the time - with both journal articles and book chapters coming out of that conference. She speaks with Third Degree's Jessica Minshall.
The Anti-Bogan
We turn now to an anti-racist blog known as The Anti-Bogan, which is engaged in struggles to redefine what’s acceptable in the public domain by exposing hate speech and white supremacist sentiments on Australian social networks. Third Degree's Simon Unwin spoke to one of the site's administrators.
